This vase was originally intended to be a functional lidded jar. But during the drying stage, it was dropped and hit a wire shelf. This left it with a large gash in the side. The vase then had additional gouges added to camouflage the original accident. Being dropped was too much stress on the vase, though, and the base cracked. A hole had to be made in the bottom. This has left it to be a stunning vase for dry flower arrangements. It also looks great on its own as a sculpture.
